Chelsea’s top goal scorer of all time FROM TODAY! Frank Lampard scored twice against Aston Villa!

Today was one of the finest moments for Super Frankie Lampard! He thanked the fans and he said of the moment “I did get a bit emotional” and he dedicated his haul of 203 goals (a record) to his mum.

The previous record was posted between 1959-1970 by Sir Bobby Tambling with a total of a spectacular 202 goals! Rafael Benitez Chelsea’s interim manager said “He’s a great player who has been working hard and to achieve what he has is amazing. He is a great professional. I’m really pleased for him and really pleased for the team because he scored two goals and won the game” and did not speculate on whether Mourinho will be back, or on a contract offer for Lampard.

Chelsea are now in the Champions League next season after what has been described as a dramatic match with Aston Villa, which saw a sending off for each team, Lampard break Sir Tambling’s record with two goals and Chelsea make it to the Premier League top three spot, which means Champions League football for the Blues.

Last year in December, Chelsea had beat Aston Villa 8-0, this match-up was different, when Aston Villa put themselves in the lead with a goal in 14 minutes by Benteke, although Lampard came to rescue the match with a stunning curled shot into the goal and a late strike from close range.

The team have done well today, and will have to keep up their momentum with the likes of back in form Torres his team-mates Ba, Lampard and Mata will surely be wanting to show they can end on a good season on a good high note of a trophy.

Eden Hazard and John Terry have come off from the match with injuries and it is too soon to know whether they will be included in the Europa League Final against Benfica in Amsterdam (15th May Wednesday).

Chelsea as a team made a record for most goals scored in the season with 143 goals with the match against Aston Villa.

In other news Aston Villa’s captain Stiliyan Petrov has retired due to his battle with Leukemia, also, Sir Alex Ferguson has retired and David Moyes is to be in the managerial position at the end of the season.

Bangalore, April 23, M. Chinnaswamy stadium, it was a Tuesday and Chris Gayle put on a display of fireworks with 6’s and 4’s throughout the evening. Chris Gayle is the star opening batsmen for Royal Challengers Bangalore and a match doesn’t seem to go past without Chris Gayle hitting a six! It’s a rarity to see him not hit a six!

The match against Pune Warriors saw Chris Gayle quick fire his way to a century in 30 balls! He also received the accolade for highest score of 175 in 66 balls.

His innings, was one that saw him from the very beginning to the very end not out (20. overs), and the middle of his innings saw 17 sixes! and 13 fours!

Here’s his wagon wheel:

Chris Gayle century innings

The Royal Challengers Bangalore reached 263 for 5, thanks to the one man show, and the ‘team’ received the fastest Indian Premier League hundred too.

The experienced and collected batting showed a huge range of Gayle’s repertoire of shots, my favourite shot was his six to reach his hundred and he hit the roof with his powerful shot! In celebration and to thank the crowd, Gayle took off his helmet and then with a smile hugged his partner Dilshan and then went down on his knees with a wider smile and raised his bat to the crowd! Chris Gayle is a remarkable showman and 81% of people in a vote believed that Gayle would make his hundred, well he sure as well did!

The excellent West Indian cricketer is now number one in the most runs scored in the IPL 2013 with 566 runs followed by M Hussey who is on 504, and then comes RG Sharma an Indian who is number three with 414runs.

The match was interrupted at one point, by a beautiful feat of mother nature, a torrential down pour, and then resumed again after 30 minutes for Chris Gayle to demonstrate the beauty of Cricket in 30 balls.

The previous record for fastest IPL hundred was made by India’s Yusuf Pathan’s who made a century in 37 balls in 2010.

Gayle also set the latest IPL record for the fastest 150 in 53 balls and was to thank for beating the previous 246-run record of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) against Rajasthan Royals in 2010, Virat Kohli the Royal Challenger Bangalore captain must have felt relieved to be on the side that was batting with Gayle as they watched him dispatch every bowl that was pitched in to him from seven different bowlers. The Pune Warriors tried to slow Gayle down at one point with the introduction of spinners, this however did not stop the sixes or fours or Gayle from breaking the records mentioned above.

Pune Warriors captain Aaron Finch had won the toss and elected to bowl, possibly they didn’t know that Chris Gayle was in such fine form. The fielders were faced by the pace of every shot coming from Gayle’s bat and he hits many shots, if not all of them, very hard and fast.

In conclusion: Chris Gayle has yet again shown why he is such an asset to the world of Cricket:

Dabaang! ‘Being Human’ – Salman Khan’s ‘Charity’ – To Make Film – Katrina’s younger sister to DEBUT!

Are Hud Dabaang Dabaang Dabaang!

salman being human

Salman Khan & his charity Being Human is to launch a film starring Katrina Kaif’s younger sister who will debut with a lead role.

‘Being Human’ is a charity founded by Bollywood star Salman Khan, above is a photo of Salman in his charities well-known logo, which works to help the unfortunate children by providing them with healthcare and education. The launch of Being Human’s first flagship store in Mumbai, happened on January 17, 2013 and that’s where this snap of Salman’s Being Human ‘Blue T’ was taken.

Salman has seen much media attention, as always, and some of the most recent reasons are:

  • Questions of his health and his visits to American Doctors
  • His hair re-growth treatment
  • Avoiding Court in his hit and run case
  • Shooting wild buck

And Finally – his stand on not accepting awards. All the same, Salman Khan has been working hard on every level to promote his charity and latest films, and, a spot has been booked for Eid (a celebratory Islamic festival) which is when a film starring Salman will be screened in Cinemas, called Sher Khan. The plot of Sher Khan is still unknown although Sohail Khan, brother of Salman will be producing it and as you may know Arbaaz another of Salman Khan’s brother produced Dabaang and Dabaang2, which were both big hitters in the world of Bollywood Cinema, the brothers will surely be alive to the notion that Sher Khan may be another film to do well.

The latest news on Salman’s charity trust is that they and their ambassador have offered some much needed help to the drought-hit Marathwada region of Maharashtra. The Being Human foundation will provide 2,500 water tankers with a storage capacity of 2,000 litres each to the drought affected districts from the 6th to the 31st of May 2013.

The latest news for the charity Being Human is that they recently had a store launch in the Fortis Hospital, Gurgaon, Fortis has many hospitals across the country and the Being Human Foundation is helping particularly in the area of congenital heart defects.

Salman Khan said of the partnership: “From time to time, Being Human is approached by cases of children with heart conditions. The solution is very specialized and not financially affordable for a number of people. We needed to partner with a reputed institution that could offer a sustained solution, preferably at a pan-India level. In Fortis, we have found such a partner.” The partnership’s campaign has been called The Little Hearts, and they aim to cure 500 children, from heart defects.

The actor aged 47, also promoted being charitable by saying “do charity and do it directly” he went on to say “everybody does charity, but not everybody likes to talk about it. Some may do it for personal benefits, to stay in the limelight or others might do it genuinely. According to me, you may do charity for any reason, but do it anyways. No matter what the intention is”. Salman went further to clarify his view on direct charity he said: “Rather than giving money at a place where you don’t know how it will be utilised, it is better to make direct charity like funding a child’s education. At least you can see the results yourself”.

Salman Khan has also been trying to encourage others to start-up a charity trust he said: Everyone should open a charitable trust and help people. I’m sure many do it, but I want to take it to a different level.” He said of his plans in the future that: “We will start restaurants in metros first…We will open first in Mumbai and Pune and so on. The profits earned from them will go to the needy people living in metros. We will tie-up with someone who has the same kind of ideology… we are doing all this for a noble cause.”

Being Human will certainly be wanting to make an impression in the field of work that Salman is in, Bollywood Cinema, and yet here’s the surprise, the Being Human foundation’s film will be a Hollywood flick! The cast is cool with Speedy Singh’s Vinay Virmani as a lead, alongside Kunal Nayyar who is from The Big Bang Theory television show and in Harold and Kumar, with a rumoured link to Isabella Kaif who is said to be starring in the film entitled Dr Cabbie.

The story is an interesting one, of an unemployed Indian doctor who immigrates to Canada and drives a cab for his living, although things take a turn, in a twist, when he is made into a local hero after turning his taxi into a mobile clinic. The film is to go into production in the next few weeks and is going to be distributed by Eros and the project is said to be a $25million project.

The figures that Actor Salman is being offered, speak for themselves, Rs 7 cr Salman Khan’s endorsement fee per deal,  two years ago, it was just Rs 1.5 crore, and this is all down to Salman and his big hitting films. “Dabangg, Ready and Bodyguard, among them – have been monster Rs 100-crore hits. One of his recent releases, Ek Tha Tiger, beat all earlier films with box-office collections close to Rs 200 crore.” (intoday.in)

Salman and his high profiled celebrity friends have made this brand ‘Being Human’ a brand to be cherished as its charity work is cherished by the children who are benefited by their work and help. Whether the film Dr Cabbie will do as well as the ‘Being Human’ clothing and watches, will soon be revealed. As for now there will continue to be speculation, as always, about Salman, and his films, life, and charity. Here’s the latest speculative comment from a marketing expert Ashish Mishra:

“If the branding strategy is well laid out, Being Human and brand Salman definitely have the potential of outliving Salman Khan, the actor”, Managing Director of brand consultancy Interbrand India.

Keep an eye out for Dr Cabbie! Also do let me know what you think about Salman’s “Being Human” charity trust.
